Buying a kit is one decision, not ten. The pieces inside have already been picked to work together, so you skip the job of matching a fan to a filter, or a feed chart to a growing medium, before anything is planted. On a first grow that is the gap between a setup that finishes in an afternoon and a week spent waiting on the one part you did not know you needed.

Each complete tent kit we sell pairs a grow tent with a grow light, an inline fan and a carbon filter that are sized to each other. What else is in the box is not the same on every kit — some add ducting, a timer, a hygrometer and ratchet hangers — so read the product page for the exact list before you buy.

A full feed schedule in one order

Starter packs from Green Planet, House & Garden, Advanced Nutrients, Cyco, Growth Technology, ISN, Bio Diesel, Professor's Nutrients and Hy-Gen put a base nutrient in the same order as the additives meant to run with it. Bottle sizes are aimed at a first run, not a commercial room.

Built around the medium you are growing in

Coco, soil and recirculating systems do not take the same feed. The kits on this page are sold by medium, so you do not have to translate a chart yourself — House & Garden, for instance, ships separate Coco, Soil and Aqua starter kits, and the bottles that arrive already match how you grow.

This collection holds three kinds of kit. Complete grow tent kits cover the room in a single order — the Ultimate Grow Tent Starter Kit, the Ultimate Hi-Top and Ultimate Beginner Indoor kits, AC Infinity's Advanced Ionframe EVO4 3x3 kit, the Stealth Sufficient kit, and the Vivosun VGrow all-in-one smart grow box (45 x 45 x 122cm) when the space is cupboard-sized.

Nutrient starter packs run from two-bottle sets under one brand up to twelve-bottle programs. How to choose the right starter kit

1. Start with your space. Measure the footprint and the height you can spare for a tent, including clearance above for the light to hang and the fan to sit. Height is what trips people up, not floor area.
2. Match the nutrient kit to your medium. Coco, soil and recirculating hydro each take a different feed. Take the kit sold for the medium you are using, rather than converting a chart yourself.
3. Check the component list. Tent kits are not identical. Some ship tent, light, fan and filter only; others add ducting, hangers, a timer and a hygrometer. The product page is the list of what actually ships.
4. Decide where seedlings will start. If you are germinating or taking cuttings, a propagation kit sits beside the main tent rather than inside it, and needs its own small light and heat.
5. Budget for the consumables. Tent kits generally leave out pots, growing medium and nutrients. Add those in the same order so a missing bag does not push the start date.
