Dip the cutting
Decant a little Clonex gel into a clean container, dip the cut stem and place it in your propagation medium. Discard the used gel.

Start CCS at first roots
From the first root initiation, water cuttings with CCS at 5mL per litre of water.

Build the CCS strength
Increase CCS to a maximum of 10mL per litre as the cutting becomes more established.

Move to Foliage Focus
Once the cutting is ready for planting on, feed Foliage Focus at 5β7mL per litre in hydro and semi-hydro, or 3β5mL per litre in soil.

Add Rootzone
Add Rootzone to the feed: 0.5mL per litre for cuttings and seedlings, 1mL per litre for juvenile and mature plants.

Feed and flush
Use Foliage Focus at each watering for optimum results, and flush monthly with plain water to clear mineral salts.

What's in the GT Starter Kit?
Four Growth Technology products: Clonex Rooting Hormone Gel 50mL for striking cuttings, Clonex Cloning Solution (CCS) 250mL for feeding them as roots form, Foliage Focus 1L as the complete nutrient once they're growing, and Rootzone 250mL, a root biostimulant you add to the feed. Together they cover a plant from cutting to maturity.
What order do I use them in?
Clonex gel first: dip each cutting and place it in your propagation medium. From the first sign of roots, water with CCS at 5mL per litre, building up to 10mL per litre. When the cutting is ready to plant on, move to Foliage Focus at 5β7mL per litre in hydro or 3β5mL per litre in soil. Rootzone goes in alongside, at 0.5mL per litre for cuttings and seedlings and 1mL per litre after that.
How far does the kit go?
A long way. The 50mL of Clonex gel is enough for a hundred cuttings or more. The 250mL of CCS makes up to 50L at 5mL per litre. The 1L of Foliage Focus makes up to 200L of working solution at 5mL per litre, and the 250mL of Rootzone treats 250L at 1mL per litre, so those two run out at about the same time.
Can I use the kit on plants other than foliage plants?
Three of the four suit any plant: Clonex gel is safe for use on all types of plants, CCS is made for cuttings and seedlings generally, and Rootzone can be added to any regular liquid fertiliser. Foliage Focus is the exception. It's formulated for non-flowering foliage plants, so for flowering or fruiting plants, grow on with Complete Focus instead.
I'm not taking cuttings. Is there a smaller kit?
Yes. The Foliage Focus and Rootzone kit has the same two feeding products, Foliage Focus 1L and Rootzone 250mL, without the Clonex gel and CCS. It also comes in a larger size, with Foliage Focus 5L and Rootzone 1L. Choose the Starter Kit if you want to propagate your own plants as well as feed them.

It's a simple way to start propagating and feeding foliage plants with products made to work together.
What's in the kit

How the four work together

- Feed the new roots. From the first root initiation, water with CCS at 5mL per litre of water, increasing to a maximum of 10mL per litre as the cutting becomes more established.
- Grow it on. When the cutting is ready for planting on, switch to Foliage Focus: 5β7mL per litre of water in hydroponics and semi-hydro, or 3β5mL per litre in soil and potting mix. Use at each watering and flush monthly with plain water.
- Look after the roots. Add Rootzone to your regular liquid fertiliser: 0.5mL per litre for cuttings and seedlings, 1mL per litre for juvenile and mature plants.
Store all four in a cool, dark place, and keep the Clonex gel in the fridge if you can.
Clonex Rooting Hormone Gel
Launched in 1989 as the world's first propagating gel, this Australian innovation is used by professional propagators and hobbyists the world over. Clonex is a bright, translucent gel, a high-performance formulation of hormones, vitamins and mineral nutrients. Unlike propagating powders and liquids, which are hormone mixed with talc or dissolved in de-ionised water, it seals the cut tissue instantly, helping to protect the cutting from infection and embolism, and stays in contact with the stem throughout the rooting period. It's formulated for increased strike rates and quicker, more prolific root growth.
Clonex Cloning Solution (CCS)
CCS is a single-part hydroponic nutrient concentrate with a special blend of minerals, vitamins, wetting agents and root promoters. It feeds cuttings a complete, balanced mineral profile to encourage rapid, profuse root development and to guard against the stress of transplanting, and it's the ideal partner to Clonex gel. Dilute it in a watering can, or use it in flood and drain systems or with sprinklers and misters, giving enough for a little run-through from the cutting's container.
Foliage Focus
Developed using Growth Technology's Single Part Technology (SPT) and manufactured from the highest quality raw materials, Foliage Focus delivers all 12 essential minerals, including calcium, in an easily absorbed liquid concentrate. It's pH buffered, made with chelated trace elements for effortless absorption, and guaranteed free of chlorides, urea and sodium. It's formulated for faster growth and development, increased root development and strength, profuse vegetative growth, and greater resistance to disease and environmental stress, and it's perfect for both rare and common species of foliage plants. One capful is 20mL.
Rootzone
Rootzone is an organic-based additive made to be used in conjunction with nutrients throughout the entire life cycle of a plant. It's a blend of marine and plant extracts, fulvic acid, and a small quantity of thiamine and potassium, all aimed at robust root development, because optimum root health means optimal plant health and vigorous growth. It was tested in 12 in-house trials and a further 97 external trials.
