It is accumulated seabird droppings, used as fertiliser for centuries because it is naturally high in phosphorus and nitrogen in plant-available forms, along with trace elements. As an organic input it feeds soil biology as well as the plant, which is why it suits living soil and biologically active media better than sterile hydroponic systems.
Organic inputs generally work best where there is biology to break them down — living soil, coco with a microbial programme, or an organic potting mix. In a sterile recirculating system, organic products can foul lines and are harder to dose precisely. If you run hydro, consider whether your system supports biology before switching to an organic range.
Both are 2kg dry flowering feeds; the Sea version is marine-derived, bringing a different trace element profile. They cover the same stage rather than stacking, so most growers choose one. Being dry, both ship cheaply and keep well sealed — weigh them out rather than scooping and dissolve fully before feeding.
They are formulated for general garden and lawn use rather than for an indoor grow, and come in 2L. It is unusual for a hydroponic-adjacent brand to make them, and the appeal is consistency: if you have chosen organic inputs for the grow room, these let you feed the rest of the garden on the same basis.
Less precisely than mineral salts, and that is normal. Because organic inputs rely on biological breakdown, not everything you add is immediately in solution, so EC readings understate what is actually there. Judge by plant response over several days rather than chasing a number the same afternoon, and follow the label rate rather than improvising.
