Why trim with a machine

Hand-trimming is what holds harvest up. Plants are cut, the dry room is ready, and someone still has to take every bud over with scissors. A trimming machine ends that queue. The CenturionPro Original makes 37,500 cuts per minute — no scissor crew keeps that pace — and it does not tire, get sticky fingers or slow down after lunch.

Our range of trimming machines

Benchtop electric trimmers. Power-Trim sells 480mm trimmers in manual and motorised versions; Bloom Works has a 483mm auto leaf trimmer and a 457mm tilt trimmer; the CenturionPro TableTop sits with them. Together they cover home and small-room harvests without taking over the shed.

Commercial wet and dry machines. The Mini, Original and Gladiator from CenturionPro are tumbler machines that swap wet, dry and hybrid tumblers. Quantanium non-stick and electropolished tumblers are on the shelf. Twister's T4 and Triminator's Hybrid wet/dry trimmer complete the commercial set.

Dry batch trimmers. Hang-dried flower goes through CenturionPro's DBT series in batches, more gently than a wet tumbler. Throughput is Model 0 at 3.15kg per hour, Model 1 at 4.5kg and Model 3 at 22.5kg; DBT4 and DBT5 sit above that for serious rooms.

Parts and servicing. When a blade or belt wears out you do not retire the machine. This page is a full CenturionPro parts library — reel blades, bed bar blades, tumblers, drive belts, brush assemblies, hoppers, blowers, wheels and tool kits — fitted to the TableTop, Mini, Original, Gladiator and 3.0.

How to choose the right trimming machine

  1. Wet or dry first. Settle the trim style, then buy. Wet machines take material straight off the plant. Dry machines work hang-dried flower and treat the finished bud more gently. Hybrids and machines with swappable tumblers keep both routes available.
  2. Match throughput to harvest size. The rating is kilograms per hour of continuous feeding. A 4.5kg-per-hour machine and a 22.5kg one are different tools. Size it to the batch you actually run.
  3. Count the power and floor space. A benchtop unit uses a normal outlet and stores in a cupboard. Commercial tumbler machines are wheeled floor units that need a permanent corner of the shed.
  4. Check serviceability. Blades, belts and brushes are consumables. Re-blade a CenturionPro in minutes and it stays in service; a machine with no parts support ends up as a bench ornament.

Small harvests are fine on a hand-cranked bowl trimmer, and every machine-trimmed batch still deserves a last pass with trimming scissors. Drying, curing and storage live in post-harvest equipment.

Trimming Machines FAQ's

Either is valid — the drying setup decides it. Wet trimming is done the moment the plant is cut, when the leaf is still stiff and the machine can take it off cleanly and quickly. Dry trimming waits until after hang-drying and is gentler on the finished flower. CenturionPro tumbler trimmers swap wet and dry tumblers, the Triminator Hybrid does both, and the DBT series is dry-batch only.

A large jump. The CenturionPro Original makes 37,500 cuts per minute, and the DBT dry batch trimmers are rated from 3.15kg to 22.5kg per hour depending on the model — work that would keep a scissor crew busy for days. A last hand pass on the odd bud is still worth it; the machine does the bulk of the labour.

Not if you pick the right machine for the job — less damage than most growers expect. Tumbler trimmers roll flower past the blades instead of forcing it through, and dry trimming is gentler still because the leaf snaps rather than tears. Feed evenly, do not overload the tumbler, and keep the blades sharp: a dull blade bruises, a sharp one slices.

Size it to rated throughput and the harvest you actually run, not the one you hope for. Power-Trim and Bloom Works benchtop units cover hobby rooms; the CenturionPro TableTop and Mini suit regular mid-size harvests; the Original, Gladiator, Twister T4 and the DBT dry batch series are commercial machines for real volume. Going one size up can save an upgrade, but a machine too big for the batch trims unevenly.

Yes. This page is the full CenturionPro parts wall: reel and bed bar blades, tumblers, drive belts, brush assemblies, hoppers, blowers, wheels, o-rings and complete tool kits, with fitments for the TableTop, Mini, Original, Gladiator and 3.0. Blades and belts wear first; a spare of each on the shelf keeps harvest from stalling.

A bowl trimmer is a hand-cranked benchtop bowl with a spinning blade under a grille — cheap, quiet, and sized for a plant or two at a time. A trimming machine is motorised, feeds continuously and finishes kilograms in the time a bowl finishes a batch. Harvest more than a couple of plants at once and the machine usually pays for itself in a season.
