Plant Training & Support FAQ's
Use the tent's internal footprint, not the outside measurements. Sea-Hawk stretch nets are 80cm, 100cm, 120cm and 145cm squares; AC Infinity elastic nets are sold in feet — 2x2, 2x4, 3x3, 4x4 and 5x5. A net a little under the footprint tensions cleanly; one that is too large has to be forced.
Put it in during late veg, before the plant stretches into flower. Growth then comes up through the net and you weave shoots as they rise. Wait until the canopy has already filled the space and you will be threading around established branches — that is how stems get snapped or bruised, and you lose growth.
Elastic-cord netting gives as plants push into it, is more forgiving if the install is a bit off, and is easier to cut away at harvest. Fixed nylon keeps a stricter grid, which is what you want for even, repeatable spacing. They do the same job; pick flex if you want forgiveness, nylon if you want a rigid layout.
Not on every plant. The net holds the canopy as a sheet; yo-yo hangers take the load off single branches that start to bend under heavy flowers. Most growers add them later in flower, once particular branches lean, rather than fitting them at setup. A pack is cheap enough to keep on the shelf.
