How a bowl trimmer works

A bowl trimmer is scissor trimming, multiplied. Under the wire grille sits a spinning blade; you turn the crank, buds tumble across the grille, and any leaf poking through gets clipped and drops into the catch tray below. The flower itself never touches the blade — only the leaf does. Ten minutes of cranking replaces an hour of snipping, with no power point needed.

Our bowl trimmers

AC Infinity's twist-spin bowls come in 406mm and 482mm sizes with a clear dome, so you can watch the batch and stop at exactly the finish you want — and they're rated for wet or dry product. The SeaHawk bowl hand trimmer is the straightforward budget crank, and Power-Trim's 480mm trimmers come in manual and motorised versions — the motorised unit spins the blade for you, saving your shoulder on bigger batches.

Choosing between bowl sizes

The smaller 406mm bowl suits a plant or two per session and stores anywhere. The 482mm-class bowls give buds more room to tumble, which trims faster and more evenly on bigger batches. If every load packs the dome full, you've outgrown bowls — the next step is a motorised machine.

Bowl trimmers sit within our wider trimming machines range — and whichever bowl you run, keep a pair of trimming scissors handy for the final manicure. The full harvest workflow lives in post-harvest equipment.

Bowl Trimmers FAQ's

You load buds into the bowl and turn the crank. A blade spins under a wire grille, snipping off any leaf that pokes through while the buds tumble safely above it — the same scissor action as hand trimming, multiplied many times over. Trimmed leaf drops into the catch tray below, ready to keep for edibles or extracts.

The AC Infinity bowl trimmers are rated for both wet and dry product — wet trimming straight off the plant is quicker and cleaner in the bowl, while dry trimming after hang-drying gives a slower, gentler finish. Whichever you run, work in small batches and empty the catch tray often; an overfull bowl trims unevenly.

Match the bowl to your harvest. AC Infinity's 406mm bowl suits a plant or two per session; the 482mm model gives buds more tumbling room, so bigger batches trim faster and more evenly. The Power-Trim 480mm units sit in the same larger class. If every load is packed to the dome, you've outgrown the bowl.

When trim day outgrows the crank. A bowl trimmer is perfect up to a few plants, but it's batch work with your arm as the motor. Once you're processing kilograms each harvest, a motorised trimming machine — from benchtop electrics up to CenturionPro tumbler machines — finishes in hours what a bowl handles in an afternoon.
