Why ROOT!T

ROOT!T covers the three moments where a cutting is most likely to be lost: the cut itself, the days before roots appear, and the first feed once they do.

Gel at the cut

The Propagation Gel comes in a 150mL bottle with a nozzle, so gel goes onto the stem rather than the stem going into a shared pot — which is how contamination travels through a batch.

Mist while it has no roots

A cutting loses water through its leaves and has no roots to replace it. The 100mL Cutting Mist is applied to the foliage during that window.

First Feed once roots appear

A newly rooted cutting cannot handle a full-strength feed. First Feed at 250mL is formulated for that transition rather than being a diluted grow nutrient.

Insulated mats under heat mats

An insulated underlay stops heat from a propagation mat disappearing into a cold bench or floor, so more of it reaches the root zone and the mat cycles less. The small mat is 350x250mm.

Our ROOT!T range

Liquids: Propagation Gel with nozzle 150mL, Cutting Mist 100mL, and First Feed 250mL.

Plugs: coco coir dry propagation plugs in a 24 cell tray, and 60 plug tray refills.

Heat mat accessories: the small insulated mat at 350x250mm.

Rooting a cutting

  1. Cut clean and cut once. A crushed stem roots slowly. Use a sharp sterile blade and change it between mother plants.
  2. Apply gel from the bottle, not a shared pot. Decanting what you need keeps the rest of the bottle uncontaminated for the next batch.
  3. Humidity, not saturation. Keep the air around the leaves humid and the medium damp — not wet. Waterlogged plugs rot.
  4. Wait for roots before feeding. First Feed comes after roots show, not before. Feeding a rootless cutting achieves nothing.
  5. Insulate the heat mat. On a concrete floor or a cold bench, much of a heat mat output goes downwards. An insulated underlay puts it back into the tray.

ROOT!T FAQ's

They are used at different stages. Cutting Mist is applied to the foliage while the cutting has no roots and is losing water through its leaves. First Feed is a root-zone feed for once roots have appeared and the plant can actually take nutrient up. Using First Feed before roots exist does nothing useful.

A gel stays on the cut surface instead of running off or dusting away, which means the active stays where it is needed. The 150mL bottle has a nozzle so you can apply directly or decant a small amount, rather than dipping every stem into one shared container and moving contamination through the whole batch.

It stops heat escaping downwards into a cold bench, shelf or concrete floor. Without one, a significant share of what the heat mat produces is heating the furniture rather than the root zone, so the mat runs longer to hold the same temperature. The small mat here is 350x250mm.

No. Once a plug has been colonised by roots and transplanted, it goes with the plant into the next container — it is not removed or reused. Refill trays are sold separately for this reason: the tray is the durable part and the plugs are the consumable. The 60 plug refill covers the tray.
