Grower Tip

  • Deficiencies are most likely during periods of prolific growth, so that's the time to add it, before symptoms set in.

Features

Calcium, magnesium and nitrogen

A calcium, magnesium and nitrate solution with a typical analysis of 40g/L calcium, 20g/L magnesium and 50g/L nitrogen.

Corrects deficiency symptoms

For correcting deficiency symptoms such as tip burn, brown spots, leaf curl and slow growth.

Buffers coco

Acts to buffer cocopeat growing media.

Root or foliar

Add it to your nutrient solution at 1–2mL per litre, or spray it on the leaves at 1mL per litre.

Hydro, potting mix and aquaponics

Used in hydroponics and potting mix, and in aquaponic systems.

Growth and flowering

Suited to both vegetative growth and flowering, for strong growth and vigour.

Concentrated

At 2mL per litre, the 1L treats 500L of water.

  1. 1
    Check the symptoms

Look for deficiency symptoms such as tip burn, brown spots, leaf curl and slow growth.

  2. 2
    Dilute

Add 1–2mL per litre of water to your nutrient solution, in hydroponics or potting mix.

  3. 3
    Correct a deficiency

Use 2mL per litre of water weekly until the problem is corrected.

  4. 4
    Or foliar feed

For a foliar feed, dilute 1mL per litre of water and spray in low light conditions.

  5. 5
    Store it right

Store in a cool, dark place.

What deficiencies does it correct?

Liquid Cal Mag Nit supplies calcium, magnesium and nitrogen, so it's for shortages of those three. The symptoms to look for are tip burn, brown spots, leaf curl, slow or stunted growth, weak vigour and a lack of green growth. Dilute 2mL per litre of water and use it weekly until the problem is corrected.

Should I add it to the water or spray the leaves?

Either works. For root feeding in hydroponics or potting mix, dilute 1–2mL per litre of water. As a foliar feed, dilute 1mL per litre and spray in low light conditions. Leaves take up nutrients as well as roots, so a foliar feed is a quick way to get calcium, magnesium and nitrogen into a plant that's already showing symptoms.

Is it useful in coco?

Yes. Liquid Cal Mag Nit acts to buffer cocopeat growing media, as well as correcting calcium, magnesium and nitrogen shortages in the plants growing in it. Use it at 1–2mL per litre of water alongside your regular nutrient, and at 2mL per litre weekly if deficiency symptoms appear.

Does it replace my base nutrient?

No. It's a supplement: it supplies calcium, magnesium and nitrogen only, to top up a complete nutrient when plants need more of those three. Keep feeding your regular base nutrient at its normal rate, and add Liquid Cal Mag Nit at 1–2mL per litre during periods of prolific growth, when deficiencies may occur.

How long will a bottle last?

At the 2mL per litre correction rate, the 250mL treats 125L of water, the 1L treats 500L and the 5L treats 2,500L. At 1mL per litre they go twice as far. It's a supplement you use when it's needed, during periods of prolific growth or until a deficiency is corrected, so for most home growers a bottle lasts a long time.
