Grower Tip

  • For best results, add Rootzone at 1mL/L to your Vegetable Focus mix to keep roots healthy from seedling to harvest.
  • Mixed more than you need? The solution keeps for one to two weeks. Give it a good stir before you feed.

Features

Made for vegetables

Formulated for high quality, heavy yields in vegetables, and perfectly suited to tomatoes and cucumbers.

Complete single-part formula

Single Part Technology puts all 12 essential minerals, including calcium, in one liquid concentrate, with no A and B parts to balance.

pH buffered

Buffered to keep all 12 minerals available to the plant, with no pH adjusting needed in most tap water.

Chelated trace elements

Made from high-grade raw materials with chelated trace elements, so the nutrients are highly bioavailable and easily absorbed.

Nothing unwanted

Guaranteed free of chlorides, urea and sodium.

Hydro or soil

Works in hydroponics, semi-hydro, soil and potting mix, with a simple dilution rate for each.

Odourless

Completely odourless, so it suits indoor growing and grow tents.

Concentrated

At 5mL per litre, the 1L makes up to 200L of working solution, and the 20mL cap doubles as a measure.

  1. 1
    Dilute for hydro

For hydroponics and semi-hydro, mix 5–10mL per litre of water. One capful is 20mL.

  2. 2
    Dilute for soil

For soil and potting mix, mix 3–7mL per litre of water.

  3. 3
    Feed at every watering

Use it at each watering for best results, or at least once a week during active growth. Most plants need little or no feeding over winter.

  4. 4
    Build strength gradually

Increase the rate as plants grow towards maturity, but never exceed 10mL per litre. Stronger mixes can burn roots and leaves.

  5. 5
    Flush once a month

Water through with plain water once a month to clear any build-up of mineral salts.

  6. 6
    Leafy greens

For leafy, green vegetables, use Herb Focus instead.

How long will a bottle last?

At 5mL per litre, the 250mL makes 50L, the 1L makes 200L and the 5L makes 1,000L of feed. As a guide, a 9L watering can once a week uses 45mL, so the 1L lasts about 22 weeks. Feeding at the full 10mL per litre brings that down to about 11 weeks. All sizes are the same formula, so it's easy to move up or down a size.

What's the difference between Vegetable Focus and Complete Focus?

Vegetable Focus is tuned for vegetables such as tomatoes and cucumbers, with more potassium than Complete Focus (3.3% against 2.7%). Complete Focus is the all-rounder of the range, balanced to suit all plants, so it's the simple choice for a mixed garden. If vegetables are your main crop, Vegetable Focus is the better fit.

Do I need to adjust the pH?

Usually not. Vegetable Focus is pH buffered, so with most tap water there's no pH adjusting to do. Tap water is the best choice for mixing, because its natural buffering keeps pH steadier than distilled or reverse-osmosis water. If you run a hydroponic system and monitor pH, the ideal range for most plants is 5.5 to 6.5.

Can I use it on seedlings or as a foliar spray?

Yes to both. For seedlings, keep the mix weak, no stronger than 5mL per litre for the first few weeks, then build up as the plant establishes and starts growing strongly. As a foliar spray, use no more than 5mL per litre and avoid spraying in direct sunlight or the heat of the day. Leaves take up nutrients as well as roots, so it's a quick way to give a plant a boost.

My potting mix already has slow-release fertiliser in it. Can I still use Vegetable Focus?

Yes, but halve the dilution rate so you don't overfeed. With a pre-fertilised mix you can't be sure which minerals are in it, or how much. For best results, grow in pure coco fibre. It holds water well and has no added fertiliser, so your plants get exactly what you feed them, which makes it a perfect partner for Vegetable Focus.

Which vegetables is Vegetable Focus for?

Vegetable Focus is formulated for high quality, heavy yields in vegetables and is perfectly suited to tomatoes and cucumbers. For leafy, green vegetables, use Herb Focus, which is made for culinary herbs and leafy greens. For chillies and capsicums there's Chilli Focus, and for fruit, from citrus to strawberries, there's Fruit Focus.
