Why OASE

OASE sits at the premium end of pond and aquarium equipment, and the range stocked here reflects that: sealed canister filters with priming pumps, energy-managed pond pumps, and complete aquarium sets rather than budget components.

Filtration built for planted tanks

The BioMaster canister filters use a removable pre-filter module that can be cleaned without opening the main canister, so the biological media is left undisturbed. They come in 250, 350, 600 and 850 sizes, each also available as a Thermo version with the heater built into the canister — which keeps a heater out of view in an aquascape.

Pond pumps rated for continuous duty

AquaMax Eco Classic pumps run from 2500 to 17500 and are built for filter and watercourse duty rather than intermittent fountain use. The Aquarius Universal Premium and Premium ECO range covers fountain and feature work from 3000 to 12000.

Complete aquarium sets

ScaperLine 60, 90 and 100 and StyleLine 125 and 175 are sold as sets in black, grey or white, which removes the guesswork of matching a cabinet, hood and lighting to a tank.

Our OASE range

Pond filtration: BioSmart 18000, Biopress pump and filter sets in 4000, 6000 and 10000, and Filtral UVC combined pump and UV filter units in 1500, 3000 and 6000.

How to choose an OASE filter

  1. Match the filter to tank or pond volume, then size up. A BioMaster 350 on a 250L tank gives you headroom as the stocking level grows; running a filter at its stated maximum leaves nothing in reserve.
  2. Decide whether you want the heater inside the filter. The BioMaster Thermo models put the heating element in the canister, which frees up tank space and keeps hardware out of an aquascape.
  3. For ponds, separate the jobs. BioSmart and Biopress handle biological filtration; AquaSkim pulls surface debris before it sinks; PondoVac lifts what has already settled.
  4. Check the pump duty. AquaMax Eco Classic is built for continuous filter and watercourse running. Aquarius is aimed at fountains and features.
  5. Add UV only if you have green water. The Filtral UVC units combine pump, filter and UV in one housing for smaller ponds; larger ponds are better served by a separate filter and clarifier.

OASE FAQ's

They are the same canister filter; the Thermo versions have a heater built into the canister instead of a separate heater hanging in the tank. That frees up space inside the aquarium and keeps equipment out of sight, which matters in a planted aquascape. Both come in 250, 350, 600 and 850 sizes and both use the removable pre-filter module.

It catches coarse waste before water reaches the biological media, and it lifts out on its own so you can rinse it without opening the main canister. That matters because the biological media holds the bacteria colony doing your filtration — every time you disturb it you set the tank back. In practice it means quick weekly maintenance instead of a full strip-down.

The AquaMax Eco Classic series is designed for continuous filter and watercourse duty and runs from 2500 to 17500. The Aquarius Universal Premium range is aimed at fountains and water features. If the pump is feeding a pressure filter or a waterfall that runs all day, the AquaMax Eco Classic is the one built for it.

For a smaller pond, yes — Filtral UVC combines the pump, filtration and a UV clarifier in one submersible housing, available in 1500, 3000 and 6000. For larger ponds or heavier fish loads a separate pump and a BioSmart or Biopress filter gives more biological capacity and is easier to service.

They are sold as complete aquarium sets rather than bare tanks. ScaperLine comes in 60, 90 and 100 in black or grey; StyleLine in 125 and 175 in black or white. Exact inclusions vary by model, so check the individual product page before ordering — that is where the current specification for each set is listed.

OASE HeatUp heaters run from 50W to 400W. The usual starting point is around 1W per litre for a tank in a heated room, more if the room runs cold or the tank sits against an external wall. Sizing slightly up is safer than sizing down — an undersized heater runs constantly and still loses ground on a cold night.
