Grower Tip
- Fill the reservoir through the strainer spout and let the wick lines keep the soil evenly moist between top-ups — no daily watering.
- Check the built-in gauge, not the surface soil, to judge when to refill; the reservoir feeds from the bottom up.
- Sit each fabric pot on the raised reservoir plate so the base stays off the floor and algae is less likely to spread.
Features
High-absorption wick lines draw water up to the roots, removing the need for daily hand watering.
Each base holds round fabric pots up to 10-gallon capacity, ideal for bigger plants in larger spaces.
The heavy-duty saucer stores up to 8.5L (2.25 gal) of runoff water and nutrients for redelivery.
The plate lifts the pot off the ground to limit algae build-up and supports loads up to 45kg (100lb).
An included gauge shows the current reservoir level, and the strainer spout makes topping up quick.
A set of four matte-black bases, each 58.4cm long, for kitting out a full grow.
-
1
Assemble the base
Place the reservoir plate into the saucer tray so it sits raised above the base.
-
2
Fit the wick lines
Set the high-absorption wick lines so they contact both the reservoir water and the pot base.
-
3
Add your pot
Sit a 7 or 10 gallon fabric pot on top of the reservoir plate, centred over the wicks.
-
4
Fill the reservoir
Pour water (and nutrients if used) through the strainer spout until the gauge shows a full level.
-
5
Top up as needed
Check the gauge and refill when it runs low; the wicks keep the soil moist in between.
Which fabric pots fit these bases?
They're sized for round fabric pots up to 10-gallon capacity, and work best with 7 and 10 gallon pots. AC Infinity's 7-gallon heavy-duty fabric pots are a direct match.
How much water does each base hold?
Each reservoir stores up to 8.5 litres (2.25 gallons) of water and nutrient runoff, feeding it back up to the roots through the wick lines between refills.
How do I know when to refill?
Read the built-in water gauge rather than the topsoil. Because the base waters from the bottom up, the surface can look dry while the reservoir still has water.
Can I use nutrients in the reservoir?
Yes. The saucer stores runoff water and nutrients for redelivery. Rinse the base periodically to stop residue and algae building up in the reservoir.
How much weight can they hold?
With the reservoir plate fitted, each base supports a planter up to 45kg (100lb), so they suit large, fully-grown plants in 7 to 10 gallon pots.
Description
A set of high-capacity bottom trays designed to automatically water your plants and eliminate the need for daily irrigation.
The self-watering pot base delivers water up to your fabric pot using high absorption wick lines that moisten the soil and roots. Its heavy-duty saucer stores runoff water and nutrients for later use.
When used with the reservoir plate, this tray can withstand up to 100 pounds. This plate also elevates your fabric pot up off the ground to keep algae and other unwanted buildups from spreading.
A water gauge is included to display current levels in the reservoir while the strainer spout on the other end enables quick pouring and replenishing.
