Grower Tip
- At 104 CFM combined this is the most air the Multifan range moves, useful for a gear shelf that runs genuinely warm.
- Sit one fan each side of a driver box — the 0.75m cord between the two fans gives you that spread.
- Flip a fan over to swap it between intake and exhaust, so the pair can feed one side and vent the other.
- Rated for 35–85% RH, which covers veg and flower tent air; keep it out of a propagation dome running wetter.
Features
Two 120mm fans run from one controller at 1300 RPM, moving 52 CFM each.
104 CFM combined, double what any single Multifan delivers.
A cord-mounted switch sets low, medium, high or off to balance airflow against noise.
Rated at 67,000 hours L10 life, and let the fans lay flat or stand upright.
Total rated noise is 19 dBA despite moving 104 CFM.
Flip a fan over to turn it from an intake into an exhaust, with no rewiring.
Runs from a USB source at 3 to 7V DC, drawing 2.9W across both fans.
Eight rubber feet per fan cut vibration noise, and unscrew for a slimmer footprint.
-
1
Position the fans
Stand them upright, lay them flat, or bolt them to a panel; any orientation works.
-
2
Point the airflow
Flip a fan over to switch it between drawing cool air in and pushing hot air out.
-
3
Fit or remove the feet
Leave the silicone feet on for hard surfaces, or unscrew them for a slimmer fit and refit the screws to hold the guard.
-
4
Screw-mount if needed
Use the 105 x 105mm hole spacing and 4mm screw holes to fix the fans to a board.
-
5
Plug in
Run the 1.8m cord to a USB source rated well above 500mA, since the pair draws 0.58A.
-
6
Set the speed
Use the inline switch for low, medium or high. When chaining fans, set those nearest the source to high.
How loud is the Multifan S7?
Total rated noise is 19 dBA at full speed across both fans. That is only a fraction above the smaller Multifans while moving roughly double the air, because the 120mm frames only turn at 1300 RPM. The inline switch drops it to medium or low, and eight silicone feet per fan absorb the buzz from hard surfaces.
What powers it — is a plug included?
It runs off USB. The box holds the two fans and their speed controller, so you supply the power source. The pair draws 2.9W at 0.58A, which is above the 500mA minimum the manual sets, so use a 1A wall adapter or a powered hub rather than a low-current port on another device. Only P-suffix models include an adapter.
Can I run it in a grow tent?
Yes, within its ratings. The fans are rated for 35 to 85% RH and roughly -18°C to 70°C, which covers normal veg and flower tent conditions. They are built for indoor use only, and a propagation dome sitting above 85% RH is outside the rating, so mount the fans outside that space and move air across it instead.
How many fans can I chain together?
Up to four fans share one USB power source, and the S7 counts as two of those because both of its fans run off the single shared cord and controller. So one S7 plus one single-fan Multifan fills a chain. Given the S7's current draw, give a chain like that a power source with headroom rather than a spare device port.
Can I mount the fans vertically or reverse the airflow?
Both. The dual-ball bearings are rated for any orientation, so the fans stand upright, lay flat or bolt to a vertical panel without shortening bearing life. Flipping a fan over reverses it between intake and exhaust. Each fan has four 4mm screw holes on 105 x 105mm spacing, matching standard 120mm fan hardware.
How does the S7 compare with the S5?
Both pair two fans on one controller and cord. The S7 uses 120mm fans for 104 CFM combined at 19 dBA; the S5 uses 80mm fans for 52 CFM combined at 18 dBA. Pick the S7 when the gear runs warm and you have the depth for a 120mm frame, and the S5 when space is tight.
Description
The ultra-quiet cooling fans can be positioned to stand upright or laid flat to cool various electronics and components.
Features a multi-speed controller with power switch. Includes eight large anti-vibration rubber feet per fan and a 6-foot power cord. The USB plug can be plugged into the USB ports found behind popular electronics such as receivers and video game consoles.
The two fans are permanently connected by a 2.5 feet cord and share the same multi-speed controller. Each unit contains an additional USB port, up to four fans can be daisy chained together to share the same power source. This fan system is CE and RoHS certified and contains premium dual-ball bearings, allowing it to be mounted horizontally or vertically.
Contains AC Infinity axial fans ACX-FD1225(B)05W5 which meet UL-507 standards for safety under Underwriters Laboratories certificate E503903.
SPEED CONTROLLER
The fans include an in-line multi-speed controller with power switch to set the fan’s speed to optimal noise and airflow levels for various environments.
CONNECTING ADDITIONAL UNITS
For electronics and components that requires more airflow, each fan unit can daisy chain additional MULTIFAN S series fans. Up to four fans can share the same USB power source; and up to six fans can share the same thermal controller (sold separately). MULTIFAN S1, S2, S3 and S4 contains one fan, and MULTIFAN S5 and S7 contains two fans.
APPLICATIONS
The ultra-quiet cooling fans are popular in a variety of electronics and components such as receivers, DVRs, video game consoles, modems, computers, amplifiers, and other audio video equipment.
