Grower Tip
- For best results, dip each cutting in Clonex gel, then water with CCS at 5mL/L every time you water.
- Step the rate up towards 10mL/L as cuttings establish, but never go past 10mL/L.
Features
Formulated specifically for fast, healthy, vigorous root growth on stem cuttings, clones and young seedlings.
A complete, balanced mineral profile at the right strength for young, tender roots.
Contains thiamine (vitamin B1) to help cuttings handle the stress of propagation and transplanting.
No pH adjusting needed, so you can dilute it and water straight away.
Nutrients are in a readily absorbed form, so new roots can take them up quickly.
One bottle, no A and B mixing. At 5mL/L a 250mL bottle makes up to 50L of solution.
Root feeding, foliar misting, water propagation and helping plants recover from transplant shock or damage.
-
1
Dilute
Add 5mL of CCS per litre of clean water and stir. For a small vessel, that's 1mL per 200mL.
-
2
Water your cuttings
Use a watering can, flood and drain, sprinklers or misters. Apply enough for a little run-through from each container.
-
3
Feed at every watering
Use CCS from the first sign of roots until the cutting is ready to plant on.
-
4
Increase as roots establish
Raise the rate gradually as cuttings strengthen, up to a maximum of 10mL per litre.
-
5
Foliar option
Mix 3mL per litre and mist both leaf surfaces in low light or after lights out.
-
6
Water propagation
Mix 5mL per litre when rooting cuttings in water, and refresh the solution weekly.
-
7
Store it right
Keep the bottle sealed in a cool, dark place.
Do I still need a rooting gel if I use CCS?
They do different jobs and work best as a pair. Clonex gel goes on the cut stem to start root initiation, while CCS is the feed you water the cutting with afterwards. For best results, dip each cutting in Clonex Purple gel, then water with CCS at 5mL/L at every watering until it's ready to plant on.
Do I need to pH adjust CCS?
No. CCS is pre-buffered, so you can dilute it in clean water at 5mL/L and use it straight away. That makes it easy for growers who don't run a pH meter for their propagation tray. In a full hydro or coco program you can still check pH as part of your usual routine.
How much solution does each size make?
At the standard 5mL/L rate, the 250mL bottle makes up to 50L, the 1L makes 200L, the 5L makes 1000L and the 20L makes 4000L. The 250mL suits a home grower doing the odd batch of cuttings, while the 5L and 20L suit growers propagating regularly or running a mother plant program.
Can I use CCS on seedlings or stressed plants?
Yes. CCS is made for seedlings as well as cuttings, at the same 5mL/L rate. It also works as a recovery feed: water plants that are suffering transplant shock, stress or damage with CCS at 5mL/L. The thiamine and balanced minerals give young or set-back roots an easy-to-absorb feed while they recover.
How long should I keep using CCS?
Use it from the first root initiation until the cutting is ready to plant on. In a coco program, CCS runs at 10mL/L for the first week as cuttings, then GT Coco Grow takes over for the vegetative stage. Once your plants move to their main base nutrient, CCS has done its job.
Description
Clonex Cloning Solution (CCS) is Growth Technology's super-concentrated nutrient for stem cuttings, clones and young seedlings. It feeds new cuttings a complete, balanced mineral diet from the first sign of roots, so they establish faster and handle the stress of transplanting.
What's in it
CCS is a single-part hydroponic nutrient concentrate with 12 essential minerals, vitamins including thiamine (vitamin B1), wetting agents and root promoters. The nutrients are highly bioavailable for quick uptake by young roots, and the formula is pre-buffered, so there's no pH adjusting.
Pair it with Clonex gel
CCS is the ideal partner to Clonex Purple, Red and Green rooting hormone gels. Dip the cut stem in Clonex gel to start the roots, then water with CCS to feed the cutting until it's ready to plant on.
How to use
- Root feeding: start at 5mL per litre of water at each watering, and increase to a maximum of 10mL per litre as the cutting establishes.
- Foliar spray: 3mL per litre as a fine mist on both sides of the leaves, in low light.
- Water propagation: 5mL per litre, refreshing the solution weekly.
- Stressed plants: 5mL per litre to help plants recovering from transplant shock or damage.
Apply with a watering can, flood and drain system, sprinklers or misters. Use enough to get a little run-through from each container. Store CCS in a cool, dark place and handle it with the same care as any garden chemical.
