Grower Tip
- Run it on your inline fan — filter inside the tent for intake, or outside on the exhaust end to scrub extracted air.
- Fit the pre-filter cloth over the mesh and wash it every few months to protect the carbon and keep airflow strong.
- Reverse the flanges now and then to use the whole carbon bed, and hang the filter high in humid spaces.
Features
A 38mm bed of RC412 1200+ IAV Australian Virgin charcoal gives a high adsorption rate to scrub odours and airborne chemicals.
The wide aluminium mesh allows up to 210 CFM of airflow, suited to both intake and exhaust setups.
The aluminium flanges swap end-to-end so the whole carbon bed gets used, extending the filter's lifespan.
A gunmetal powder-coated galvanised steel mesh and aluminium frame resist corrosion in high-humidity grow spaces.
Includes a machine-washable pre-filter cloth that traps dust before it reaches the carbon; rewash to extend lifespan.
Two nylon hanging straps and 4in (100mm) flanges make it quick to mount and connect to your ducting or fan.
-
1
Fit the pre-filter
Slide the cloth pre-filter over the filter so the whole metal mesh is covered, blocking dust before it reaches the carbon.
-
2
Connect it up
Connect ducting over the flange and secure with duct clamps (add foil tape for extra hold), or attach it straight to your inline fan with tape.
-
3
Choose intake or exhaust
For intake, place the filter inside the grow space on the fan's intake end; for exhaust, place it outside on the exhaust end.
-
4
Mount it
Use the two nylon straps to hang the filter from your tent's support bars; in humid rooms, position it as high as possible.
-
5
Reverse flanges over time
To extend its life, unscrew and swap the flanges end-to-end so the full carbon bed gets used.
How does it get rid of smells?
It uses a 38mm bed of premium Australian RC412 1200+ IAV activated charcoal. As air passes through, the carbon adsorbs odours and airborne chemicals rather than masking them. Paired with an inline fan on either intake or exhaust, it scrubs the air moving through your grow space.
What size fan do I need?
This is the 4-inch (100mm) filter, so pair it with a 4-inch (100mm) inline fan and ducting for the best seal and airflow. AC Infinity also makes it in 6, 8, 10 and 12-inch sizes — match the filter to your fan's duct diameter.
How long does it last and how do I maintain it?
Two things extend its life: wash the pre-filter cloth periodically so dust doesn't clog the carbon, and reverse the flanges end-to-end so the whole carbon bed gets used. Actual lifespan depends on the odour load; replace the filter once smells start passing through.
Can I use it for both intake and exhaust?
Yes. For intake, place the filter inside your grow space on the fan's intake end; for exhaust, place it outside on the exhaust end. The reversible flanges and rust-resistant build suit either setup, including humid rooms — just mount it as high as possible.
What's included?
You get the duct carbon filter, a machine-washable pre-filter cloth to keep dust off the carbon, and two nylon straps for hanging it from your grow tent's support bars. The flanges are pre-fitted and can be reversed later to extend lifespan.
Description
A high-airflow duct filter designed to eliminate odours and chemicals, utilising a premium-grade Australian Virgin charcoal bed.
This activated carbon bed has RC412 pore sizes that enable a high adsorption rate and longer life rating. Its heavy-duty construction features aluminium flanges and dual-sided galvanised steel mesh with a rust-resistant gunmetal finish to stand up to corrosion and high humidity.
The carbon filter can be used with an inline duct fan for use in intake and exhaust configurations, while its flanges can be reversed to further prolong its lifespan. Includes a machine-washable pre-filter cloths to prevent carbon residue and two hanging straps for easy installation.
PREMIUM GRADE CARBON
Each carbon filter features premium-grade Australian Virgin carbon rated at 1200+ IAV. It comprises a 38 mm charcoal bed thickness that has a higher microporosity and helps achieve a greater surface area rating. This, when combined with its wide mesh opening, not only enables a greater adsorption rate without restricting free airflow but also extends its lifespan by up to 33%. Most used in hydroponics systems, grow tents, grow rooms, kitchens, smoking areas, and other ventilation projects.
